Title: A Case Study of a Year in Crisis and Year of Opportunities

Description:

Developing emergency operations and business continuity plans proved valuable; however, plans fail and no one could have predicted the three historical crises I dealt with back-to-back-to-back within 12 months of each other. Our people were deployed globally. Our campuses faced unprecedented events: a global pandemic, civil unrest, and a natural disaster. Leveraging these crises as opportunities, I demonstrate leadership, build value, and increase my credibility. This case study examines my first year as the director of facilities & security dealing with crisis after crisis. This session analyzes organizational emergency operations, continuity of business plans, and analyzes the impacts these plans had on organizational response to three diverse historical events that occurred. We will discuss identified lessons learned and how to leverage crises for benefit.
